Katharina Bjelland (* 1979, Germany) is a Norway based visual artist working with found materials, text, print and sculpture, finding her inspiration in everyday objects and situations. Bjelland explores consumerism and role allocations within households and society using humour, irony, and self-reflection. She thrives in an international art environment, having assisted Cory Arcangel on the launch of his flagship store Arcangel Surfware as well as working for Kunsthall Stavanger, Norway.
Bjelland graduated from Art School in Stavanger in 2021, having held her first solo exhibition in 2020. She also holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from Germany and has lived in London and Shanghai before moving to Stavanger with her young family. Following a career break, she decided to work as an artist full time.
